Convert VHS To DVD With Honestech 5.0 – A Company With A Good Reputation

Posted by Theo Williams in Technology

Honestech is the name of a reputable company that makes an easy to use video converter. You might say, “How do you know it has a good rep?” The answer to that is that the BBB (Better Business Bureau) has a lot of good to say about the company, that’s why.

The Better Business Bureau has recently accredited Honestech, determining that they meet the standards that “include a commitment to make a good faith effort to resolve any consumer complaints.” This does not mean that the company or its products are “fully evaluated or endorsed” by the BBB but it does mean that the complaint volume for a business of this size was small. The BBB received only three single complaints about Honestech and these were resolved. Needless to say, this is very good if you are thinking about using one of the Honestech products for your VHS to DVD transfer.

Note: Keep in mind that if you do not have a PC machine running a Windows operating system, this software is not for you. For instance, if you have a Mac OS X system, you computer is not compatible with Honestech’s products.

The Honestech 5.0 is probably the most popular of their products because it is great for computer users of all levels. I would not recommend them if you are looking for a top of the line product because it really is not designed with that in mind. It is designed for someone looking to get the job done fairly well within a limited mount of time and within a certain budget. For only $79.99 the VHS to DVD practitioner gets a number of really great features with the Honestech 5.0 including:

  • DVD and Blu-ray authoring
  • Main title page and credit page
  • On screen text
  • Chapter menus with motion
  • HD editing up to 1920 x 1080 resolution
  • Add music and transitions and effects
  • Variety of import and export options
  • Renders widescreen versions with a 16:9 mask
  • Preview capability
  • Split capturing for longer videos so you don’t necessarily need to edit but you can easily omit large chunks of unwanted video

So, if you need to convert VHS to DVD with something that will make life much simpler, then this could be the very product that will do it. Go for it.
